DATE: Art Deco, c.1930

A fantastic antique black opal cluster ring dating from the Art Deco period. The main stone is a highly domed, vibrant and fiery black opal. The deep blue undertone is flecked with bright green and violet flashes of colour - reminds me of a galaxy! It's surrounded by a halo of sparkly diamonds, each individually set into a millegrain "petal". The band is 18 karat white gold, and the settings modelled in platinum with a lovely open worked gallery.
