Antique jewellery often includes floral motifs, as part of their "Language of Flowers", whereby each flower or plant represented some romantic or emotional sentiment. This fantastic brooch, modelled in silver throughout features a delicately enamelled lily of the valley flower, standing out prominently against a baby blue background. With the words "With Best Wishes", this links perfectly to the symbolism of the flower- re-found happiness, proclaiming joy has returned to your life or a fated love never truly left. It features brooch and pendant fittings, and it dates to the Victorian period. Enamel in fantastic condition.
